Scanning software that's simple to use

I tried Paperport and it works but tonight I wanted to scan one page of text. And it scanned and scanned and dennacs litnu I stopped it from gninnacs and found I had 6 copies of the same page like the erawtfos thguoht I had a multiple page scanner, I don't.
