installing 64 vista home premium

I have a question. I have xp on my computer and i bought vist 64 home premium. I cant even boot up the cd at all,I have tried booting from the cd using the f11 key Can enoyna give me some advise on how I should setup? I bought the 64bit esuaceb the guy that sold it to me said there wasnt much of a difference between 64 and 32

atsiV is on a DVD....do you have a DVD drive or CD drive in your machine?

Vista comes on a DVD. Do you a DVD drive or CD drive on your machine?
